National Drinking Water Standards
On April 10, 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized the national drinking water standards for 6 types of poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The Town of Herndon purchases its drinking water from Fairfax Water. Fairfax Water has provided a Statement on EPA's Standards for Drinking Water.

Hydrant Meter Rentals - Contractors may lease Town supplied hydrant meters for use during construction by completing a Meter Rental Application and bringing it to the Department of Public Works Complex located at 1479 Sterling Road, Herndon. Office hours are 7am - 4pm M-F with the exception of holidays. Hydrant meters are to be used only on designated hydrants.
