The Town's boards, commissions, and ad hoc committees undertake specific functions and address particular areas of interest within the town.  Town Council appoints members to serve on the boards, which offer a great way for individuals to be active within the town.

Take a moment to review the current vacancies below and if you see something of interest, apply online. You may also submit an application to the Applicant Pool for consideration for future vacancies; applications are maintained in an applicant pool for one year.

Current Board Vacancies:

  • Business Member, Herndon Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee (HDEIC): The Town is seeking an energetic, results-oriented business owner to serve on the HDEIC, an advisory group that advocates for priority consideration of diversity, equity and inclusion in the development of town policies and programs. Qualified members for this position will own or manage a business within the Town of Herndon; fulfill an unexpired term through December 31, 2024. Apply today
