Herndon Youth Advisory Committee (HYAC) members advise the Town Council on activities, issues and decisions relating to youth in the Town and advocate for the interests and desires of Herndon’s diverse youth population. The HYAC serves as a link between the Town Council and the youth of the community.

The HYAC is comprised of twelve (12) middle and high school students, who either live in the Town of Herndon or attend classes at Herndon Middle or Herndon High Schools, and who are in good standing in the community. The HYAC members serve one-year terms to coincide with the academic school year and will meet up to four times per term. Members do not receive compensation.
