During curbside loose leaf collection, crews will collect throughout the week based on the schedule below.  Please rake leaves curbside before your collection period begins. There is no specific pickup day for a particular street or neighborhood.

Guidelines:  Please rake leaves to your usual trash and recycling collection  area, placing them as close to the curb as possible without blocking storm drains, fire hydrants, driveways sidewalks or parking. If there is no curb or sidewalk, place leaves on the house side of the ditch. Remove any debris from the leaves such as sticks or other yard waste before placing them out.

Please note leaf collection is based on weather conditions. Inclement weather (freezing rain & snow) will delay the collection of leaves. When snow is forecast, do not rake leaves into the curb or street - snow removal operations will take precedence over leaf collection operations! Leaf collection will resume once the weather allows for pickup.

Bagged Leaf Collection

Outside of the loose leaf collection schedule, leaves must be in open marked containers or paper lawn and leaf bags for removal on your trash day.

What is considered yard waste?

Yard waste includes grass cuttings, weeds, leaves, shrub clippings, twigs, and small branches.  Branches must be bundled per brush guidelines, noted below.

Bundling Brush Guidelines

Brush must be cut and tied in bundles not to exceed four (4) feet in length and weighing no more than 50 pounds. Tree trunks, tree limbs and stumps must be no more than three (3) inches in diameter and meet the above criteria for weight and bundling. Trees and stumps cut by tree companies or contractors will not be removed by the Town.

Containers

Yard waste is collected on your trash day.  Place yard waste in reusable sturdy plastic or metal containers not to exceed 50 gallons or 50 pounds of loaded weight. Containers should be marked “Yard Waste”. Yard waste may also be placed in 30-gallon yard and leaf paper bags for collection.
