Inspections may be done on site or via FaceTime and Goggle. Inspections must be requested one business day in advance only. 

Inspection requests are taken between the hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm

Inspections should be scheduled by emailing: buildinginspections@herndon-va.gov

ALL the following information must be included in your email or your request will be denied:

• Permit Number
• Contractor Name
• Type of Inspection (close-in, final, etc.)
• Type of Permit (building, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Job Address
• AM (9am-12pm) or PM (1pm-4pm)
• Contact information for the person who will be on site for the inspection:
• Name
• Email address
• Telephone Number (must be equipped with FaceTime or Google)
• Preferred Platform (FaceTime, Google, In-Person)

DISCLAIMER: It is the responsibility of the person on site to ensure the platform requested is downloaded and fully functioning. It is also the responsibility of the person on site to have all tools and equipment the inspector may need to perform the inspection. Failure to do so will result in your inspection being canceled or postponed and a re-inspection fee of $72.
