The Herndon Police Department Traffic Section coordinates all specialized traffic safety and traffic enforcement support for the Department.  The Department utilizes police motorcycles for traffic enforcement officers. These officer's primary function is to focus on the traffic problems within the Town to include, enforcement of traffic laws, point control, funeral escorts, parking enforcement, technical traffic survey studies, traffic safety seminars, and serious accident investigation and reconstruction.  The traffic section is also responsible for traffic and speed studies and analysis, as well as the analysis of collision reports and records.
