The Criminal Investigations Section (CIS) is responsible for conducting investigations into specified incidents or complex criminal cases committed within the Town of Herndon to pursue identification, apprehension, and successful prosecution of criminal offenders. The section has detectives assigned to general crimes and special investigations. The department partners with task forces for dedicated investigations. A crime analyst supports the section to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of crime and operational data.
