The Herndon Police Department is an accredited law enforcement agency through CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies). The accreditation process is designed to ensure that a law enforcement agency adheres to best practices and maintains updated policies and procedures. The department has been committed to accreditation since 1986.

The purpose of this public portal is to receive comments regarding our department's compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status.
