Processing U Visas

The Herndon Police Department accepts U Visa applications from law firms or individuals who may qualify under federal guidelines. All U Visa applications that meet the mandatory federal requirements will be reviewed by department personnel.

In order to be reviewed, the following must be included in your U Visa application packet:

  1. A cover letter requesting a review of the application. Law firms/attorneys representing applicants must include a letter signed by the applicant that certifies that the law firm/attorney represents the applicant.
  2. The I-918 Supplement B Form must be filled out completely, accurately, and truthfully.
  3. Applications must include copies of all supporting documentation required. (police reports, marriage licenses, divorce decrees, birth certificates, etc.)
