There are several business districts within the Town of Herndon.  There are also many mixed-use districts that include businesses.  The allowed uses differ between each district.  The Online Zoning Ordinance should be consulted for the specific lists of use permitted. 

CC: Central Commercial
The CC district includes Herndon's original downtown commercial area. The intent of the district is to allow for a mix of office, service commercial, retail commercial, entertainment, cultural, government, and civic uses.  

CO: Commercial Office
The CO is meant for principally office uses and may serve as a transition between residential and retail commercial and service commercial uses.

CS: Commercial Services
The CS district allows mostly retail, personal service, and related uses. The majority of CS districts can be found along Elden Street.

O&LI: Office & Light Industrial
The O&LI district is for high quality office and maker uses, high technology and communications industry uses, uses for scientific research, development and training, and limited retail and services uses.  This district is largely consolidated in the southeast quadrant of the Town.

PD-W, PD-TOC, PD-D, PD-TD, PD-B are the Planned Development zoning districts also permit commercial uses. The Town's zoning map shows the location of each district.
