How Can We Help You?

The Town of Herndon’s Neighborhood Improvement Program is designed to assist homeowners* in maintaining the structure, appearance and value of their homes:

  • Wood rot repairs

  • Window and door caulking

  • Gutter cleaning

  • Downspout extensions

  • Lead paint testing and remediation

  • Roof repairs

  • Wall and ceiling repairs

  • Painting

  • Water heater inspection and replacement

  • Air filter replacement

  • General maintenance training and assistance**

  • ...and more

*Participation in the town’s Neighborhood Improvement Program is based on qualifying household income, determined by HUD/Census data.

**If you’ve received a Notice of Violation from the town, we may be able to help.

About Us

The Neighborhood Improvement Program was created to help low and moderate income owners with home maintenance and repairs. The program is managed by the town's Housing and Neighborhood Improvement Coordinator, who is responsible for confirming homeowners’ needs and qualifications for this initiative.
