Overview

The Transit-Related Growth Area Small Area Plan (TRG) is the result of a highly collaborative effort lasting nearly two years. Informed by extensive public input, the process was facilitated by, and the plan produced by a consultant team with guidance from the TRG Advisory Committee, Planning Commission, Town Council, and town staff. The plan seeks to establish a vision for the TRG as a vibrant urban district fostering economic growth, supporting job creation, and accommodating a diverse mix of residential, retail, office, and recreational amenities. The plan was adopted by the Town Council as Comprehensive Plan Amendment CPA #23-01 on April 23, 2024 (Resolution 24-G-23).  Additional information regarding the TRG small area plan can be found on the plans webpage at the link below.

Transit-Related Growth Area Small Area Plan (TRG)

Town staff is now working on a zoning ordinance text amendment (ZOTA) that will establish the first two zoning districts for the TRG. The creation of the TRG zoning districts is essential for implementing the land use recommendations of the plan. Final approval of this ZOTA will not change the existing zoning or property rights of the private property owners within the TRG plan area. Adoption of the zoning districts will provide private property owners the opportunity to apply for a rezoning to redevelop their properties in accordance with the adopted TRG plan.

Project Updates

The Town has finalized the TRG Small Area Plan, and final approval from the Town Council has occurred. Town staff is now working in coordination with the Town Council and Planning Commission on the ZOTA to establish the first two zoning districts.  

At their regular meeting on May 28th, 2024, the Town Council approved the initiating resolution for the amendment.  The ZOTA will be reviewed by the Planning Commission at meetings in September and October 2024.  Please visit the Agendas, Minutes, & Webcasts page for up to date legislative documents.
