Special Project Announcements

-The Town of Herndon's Farmers Market opens on May 2nd, 2024!  The market will be held every Thursday from 8:00am to 12:00 pm through November 7th.  On Thursday, July 4th, the Farmers Market will operate as usual, from 8 AM until noon.

-The Transit-Related Growth Area (TRG) area plan has been approved by the Town Council.

About Us

The Department of Community Development (CD) provides the planning and zoning services for the Town.  In this capacity CD manages long range and current land use planning, urban design, plan review, zoning enforcement, forestry and environmental sustainability, historic preservation, and transportation planning efforts within the Town.  We strive to assist local residents and the business community and advance a shared goal of improving the quality of life in Herndon now and in the years ahead.
