The Town of Herndon boasts a unique balance of strong sense of community and being a next generation small town and each employee is pivotal in providing exceptional services to our citizens. The Town has an immediate need for a Lifeguard in the Parks and Recreation department. As a Lifeguard, you will ensure safety of patrons in and around the aquatic facility. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safety: Ensuring a safe and clean environment for students, enforcing pool rules, and responding to emergencies
• Communication: Communicating with patrons and supervisor with strong customer service skills.
• Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of pool chemistry and accident and incident reports.

Requirements:
  • American Red Cross lifeguard, first-aid CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer 
  • Fairfax County Pool Operator preferred
  • Morning and afternoon availability preferred
  • Bilingual English & Spanish a plus

Hours: Varies on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.

Due to the nature of a government providing services to the public all duties of this position are required to be fulfilled at the designated worksite in the town. No remote work is available.
