The Herndon Community Center is seeking energetic and dedicated personal trainers to join our fitness team. Provide safe, effective, and fun workouts for individual clients and small group training classes. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has experience training and interacting with a diverse range of clients. Trainers set their own schedules; provide us with your availability and we provide you with the clients and classes! Trainers at the Herndon Community Center are not required to work the fitness room floor to recruit clients and meet quotas. May be asked to participate in other tasks associated with maintaining and operating a professional fitness environment. No floor hours, sales, or commissions. Great facility and equipment plus a unique, friendly environment. 


Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide professional, comprehensive, results-oriented personal training sessions.
• Administer exercise and health consultations, fitness assessments, exercise program design sessions and fitness orientations.  
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Encourage and motivate participants in a positive way.
• Have a professional working knowledge of human anatomy, the concepts of functional exercise, basic nutrition, and the fundamental principles of exercise science.
• Be dependable, manage time and client schedules responsibly.
• Participate in special events & promotions as needed. Be knowledgeable of and promote all facility programs and activities.
• Ability to also design and conduct small group personal training classes preferred.

Requirements
• Current personal training certification from a nationally accredited organization (NSCA, ACE, NASM, ACSM, etc.)
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.  
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• A two- or four-year degree in the field of Exercise Science and at least one-year previous personal training experience preferred.

 

Hours:

• Set your own schedule (up to 30 hours/week).

• Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is in high demand.

Work Location
814 Ferndale Ave, Herndon, VA 20170; Herndon Community Center
Due to the nature of a government providing services to the public all duties of this position are required to be fulfilled at the designated worksite in the town. No remote work is available.
