Assistant Youth Swim Coach

We are seeking new staff members to coach the Herndon Aquatics Club swim team. Candidates will coach swimmers ages 6 - 18 in different age groups and attend swim meets. Seeking coaches to spend summer recruiting and planning, with coaching starting in the fall.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and implement plans for age group practices.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of growth, positivity and success for every swimmer.
• Communicate with parents concerning their individual swimmer.
• Data entry for the groups assigned
• Attend swim meets as assigned.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings and team social events.
• Attend recruitment events as assigned.
• Maintain active membership with USA swimming.
• Complete assignments from the head coach.
• Experience coaching competitive youth swim teams
• CPR, AED for the Professional Rescuer, and /First Aid Certification is required.
• American Red Cross Safety for Swim Coaches certification.
• Lifeguard Certification preferred.
Hours:
Varies on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.
Schedule:
Practices held Monday – Friday
4:45am – 7am and 3pm – 8pm
Meets on weekends.

Due to the nature of a government providing services to the public all duties of this position are required to be fulfilled at the designated worksite in the town. No remote work is available.
