The Town of Herndon, in partnership with the Herndon Woman’s Club, will join Wreaths Across America on Saturday, December 17, 2022 to honor more than 920 veterans who have been laid to rest at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Officially established in 1872, Herndon’s Chestnut Grove Cemetery is the final resting place of veterans dating back as far as the War of 1812. A short remembrance ceremony will take place at 12 PM and will honor those who have fallen, the prisoners of war, and the missing in action and honor those who have served and are serving this great nation.
