Neighborhood Resources
Neighborhood Resources is responsible for proactively planning, coordinating, directing, and implementing community, neighborhood and housing related resources and services in full collaboration with other Town departments and operations, Fairfax County and other agencies, community organizations, schools, churches, businesses, and citizens to achieve desired outcomes in the Town's residential areas.
The desired outcomes include creating a sense of community and enriching the quality of life in the Town's residential areas through coordinated human service delivery, outreach and education, leadership development and community building; enhancing the physical condition and maintenance of structures and properties in Town neighborhoods; and facilitating an entrepreneurial environment intended to stimulate development of additional public, private and non-profit initiatives for improving the quality of life in Town neighborhoods.
The Neighborhood Resources branch of the Community Development Department is devoted solely to improving neighborhoods and, therefore, cuts across departmental and programmatic lines.
